Data Scientist

Position Summary

As a Data Scientist, you will be a part of Digital Transformation team solving complex business problems using data and analytics driven approach. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing structured and unstructured datasets, perform data wrangling and feature engineering, devise innovative data science solutions and build production-ready models. You will work in a cross-disciplinary team comprising data engineers, software developers and product champions among others. Potential application areas include failure prediction of heavy equipment and integration of actionable prescriptions with equipment controls, remote monitoring and diagnostics, and performance optimization.

Key Accountabilities
    • Design / architect end-to-end descriptive, diagnostic and predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions based on the business requirements using complex high dimensional data, including streaming time-series data, static data and enterprise data coming from a variety of sources at different frequencies
    • Deliver analytics solutions that are deployment-ready, scalable and optimized for performance
    • Perform exploratory as well as targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics, visualizations and other methods to represent complex analysis with meaningful insights to business leaders and stakeholders
    • Engage with the business leaders and internal stakeholders to capture opportunities, translate them to technical requirements, and identify resource requirements and timelines for execution
    • Effectively communicate with leadership and other various levels of the organization.
    • Collaborate actively and effectively with Digital team members as well as other support functions including data management, software development, architecture, infrastructure, enterprise solutions, reliability, maintenance and operational excellence to accomplish project objectives
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Academically trained in the field of or have strong academic foundation of machine learning, deep learning and AI concepts, including but not limited to time series analysis, sensor processing, classification, regression, supervised/unsupervised/reinforced learning, regularization, clustering, anomaly detection, optimization, text analytics, NLP and statistics
  • Demonstrated expertise in building models for practical applications using these concepts
  • Should have deployed or assisted in deploying at least three end-to-end projects in real-time environment beyond proof-of-concept for industrial applications in a commercial setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of one or more analytic software tools or languages such as Python, R, Scala, Spark, Tensorflow, Keras, etc.
  • Ability to deploy real world solutions in Cloud environment in scalable, repeatable and optimized manner
  • Strong hands-on experience in sourcing, cleansing, manipulating, analyzing and assessing quality of large volumes of data including SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of Oil and Gas domain, specifically fracking pumps or similar heavy machinery
Required Experience and Education

Experience: 3-5 years of analytics development for industrial applications in a commercial / industrial setting Data Mining, Machine Learning, Optimization Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics Experience with Big Data analysis in the Oil and Gas Sector

Education: Level- PhD (preferred) or master’s degree in computer science, technology, engineering or mathematics / statistics majors from an accredited college or university.
