Project Engineer

Position Summary

The Project Engineer, Pressure Reduction Skid (PRS) is responsible for the development and design of the NexTier proprietary pressure reduction skid system. The incumbent will be the primary point of contact for all PRS fabrication and will as well as support sales, provide technical expertise and support for client, sales and operations team.  The Project Engineer, PRS will manage small to large size projects

Key Accountabilities
  • Design, implement, maintain, qualify, and improve equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for pressure reduction skids.
  • Confer with engineers and other NexTier personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, fabrication, test, and installation per specifications.
  • Assist designers/technicians in the development of products, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to CNG engineering projects.
  • Lead all troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
  • Liaise with all critical suppliers.  Work with Engineering Manager - Power Solutions with all supplier related activities.
  • Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems to ensure that functionality and operations conform and surpass standards and customer requirements.
  • Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential components, and systems.
  • Keep apprised of new CNG technologies and strategies, as well as develop or possess in depth knowledge of CNG Operations.
  • Performs related work as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication.
  • Project Management skills to manage a project with multiple team members.
  • Demonstrated competence for technologies required to develop products.  Including piping systems, heating systems, pressure regulators, electrical and controls.
  • Knowledge of the services and operating conditions for products in development.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential components, and systems.
  • Participate in and lead team efforts to continually improve the product development process.
  • Travel to field sites as required.
  • Performs related work as required.
Required Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree required
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience preferred
